DEPARTEMENTS
The aim of this department is to train professionals capable of working methodically and consciously in order to improve living environments through the design of innovative, practical and functional solutions/products of great industrial scope. The training takes into account the culture of the environment, the tradition of applied arts, the culture of industrial design and the applications of new technologies on design. It leads the student to enter the world of business with full intellectual awareness and the indispensable operative instruments; to make creative designs and realisations of modern design products; to set up the development of new lines and products that are strongly oriented towards innovation. The design and development of 3D products explain how to translate concepts into digital designs, manufacture them using 3D printers and transform them into finished products. The department foresees a wider conceptual field of action, whether as part of a creative team in companies with high-design potential, or as an Art Director in different sectors of goods production. Internships in local companies complete the training. In the first three years of the Professional Degree, the teaching units are as follows:
The Graphic and Web Design Department, in the artistic and cultural field of the Academy, trains high-level professional profiles in the sectors of visual communication: graphic design, computer graphics, digital paper publishing, techniques and web language. The department offers a particularly wide and articulated training offer in the fields of traditional graphic art and in the creation and experimental elaboration of multimedia and contemporary graphic design. In particular, the programme leads students to the critical evaluation of existing trends by orienting them towards research, innovation and artistic experimentation; to professional practice with a base of study rooted in theory and history, a mastery of visual communication methods in the studio and real project experience providing the knowledge and skills to develop conceptually and visually. The content focuses on developing creativity and mastering the software skills needed to compete in the field. Students receive skills in the areas of user interface, ergonomics of digital environments and the design of online content or services. During their training, they are also led to participate in all stages of the design and production of graphic products and interactive online services. Based on a set of specifications, they look for the graphic, ergonomic and technical solution best suited to the expected services and required functionalities. In the first three years of the Professional Degree, the teaching units are as follows:
This department trains future fashion designers. It prepares students to become specialists in the artistic design of clothing capable of creating collections with a strong creative component in which manual skills and knowledge of craft and industrial techniques are applied in an innovative way. The department focuses on a cultural training that fosters through research, the development of talent and the deepening of methods of transforming the creative impulse into innovative and competitive fashion collections. The student acquires the ability to realise the project idea, to carry out its correct evaluation, to select and analyse awareness material and to manage the relationship between feasibility and expressive needs including quality/cost/limit of materials. The student is trained in the study and research of textile and non-textile materials with the aim of finding new multi-material formal languages. In the first three years of the Professional Degree, the teaching units are as follows:
